survival

ok, so i thought that it would be easy to keep writing frequent diaryland entries but unfortunately going to work every day is considerably more boring than i had anticipated. i had expected at least something a bit weird to happen every now and again to make things interesting but i wait and wait and it never comes. if this keeps up i might be forced to actually do the jobs my boss keeps giving me just to pass the time.

the obvious boredom relief for office jobs comes in the twin forms of looking at the internet and staring out of the window but not only is the view from my window just skyscrapers and no trees but also there is no internet. it is a work disaster. i do not think it is too good for motivation or morale or whatever to deprive us of toothpaste for dinner when we have finished doing stuff. for some reason the whole office seems to be geared towards doing work instead of wasting time until we can go home. i do not understand it - it is almost like there is a work ethic or something.

anyway, it is fortunate that the department i am working in wastes a whole pile of paper every day. i am not too sure whether it gets recycled or not so i just end up taking paper out of the giant metal paper bin when nobody is looking and using it for entertainment. it is pretty obvious that you can use work pens to draw pictures on the back of print-outs even though this can only fill up a few hours before you run out of inspiration. still, i do not know why i am the only person in the office who seems to ever draw anything - maybe it is because i am new and have not starting losing my iq points in the work atmosphere yet.

ok, so as i was coming home yesterday i ended up cutting through the garden around the back of where i live and in the middle of the grass i found an empty can of tuna. there are a lot of stray cats living in my area so it is maybe not a surprise that they are adapting to city living by picnicing on the lawn but i think it is pretty cheeky of them to make me clear up their garbage. however, the question of how they got the tin open remains. my money is on plastic explosives.
