frogs

ok, if exploding dog is not the best site on the internet then i will be very surprised. now that sam is updating more regularly the internet has become a much happier place to be.

it is now properly spring time in england and that means that my garden is full of homeless frogs and toads. i will have to give you some background information. there used to be a pond in my garden until last summer when my neighbours ruined it for everyone (i mean me and the frogs). they had a toddler visiting them and because they are morons they let it run around in the garden without paying much attention to it. so the kid ends up getting through the broken fence and into my garden and then falls in the pond and the neighbours start going on about how i had deliberately tried to hurt their kid by putting a pond next to the broken part of the fence (i told you they are morons). i should have let them call the rozzers because then they might have arrested the idiot neighbours for neglecting children instead of arresting me like they wanted.

anyway, the upshot is that the pond has now been filled in and i have not spoken to the neighbours since (it is no big loss and the fence is still broken, haha). so, during the winter, frogs and toads go off to hibernate somewhere and then come back to their normal home in the spring and they have all turned up in my garden looking for the pond and it is not there. if i could speak frog i would tell them that it is neighbours fault and they should probably rain down a biblical plague on them. ok, so i now do not know what to do to help the frogs. can they find their own way to some water or should i help them find somewhere? i think it is probably better if i let them go off on their own otherwise they will not know where they are when i relocate them. still, it is a frog disaster and i will miss them when they leave.

you would be surprised how much wildlife there is in london if you are canadian or american or whatever. there are foxes and hedgehogs and herons and squirrels and other birds and ok, there is not really that much. i think i would probably rather live in the middle of nowhere where there are lots of animals about but it is never going to happen because i belong in the metropolis whether i like it or not - at least until we colonise the moon.
