happy net

ok, so last night i connected to the internet but then found that there is not much to do on a sunday. all the best comics are only updated on weekdays except for toothpastefordinner but it only takes ten seconds to finish up there. anyway i ended up clicking on random diaryland names to try to find a happy diary where the writer is not clinically depressed or just writes down a list of everything they have done that day. i mean, it is obvious that some people do not intend for their diary to be read by anyone ever or they would at least tell some jokes or put some pictures up where cartoon characters are not being decapitated. as you can probably tell, i did not find anything much.

so in response i am writing an entry of happy things that happened (or i found out about) yesterday. it is an antidote to anything else you may have read about today or seen on the news or whatever.

ok, i was talking to my uncle yesterday. somebody that he knew from his church choir had recently died (this is not the happy bit) but it turned out that not only was he 93 years old but also he died of natural causes with his electric drill in his hand. it is probably the ultimate way for a twentieth century man to die and therefore = happiness.

next up, i saw a tv program and they were talking about people being hanged (again this is not the happy bit) and there was a story about a woman called anne green i think. she was hanged slowly five hundred years ago for a crime she did not commit. however, when her body was taken away for dissection she was still breathing and was then successfully revived. she was then retried for the murder and was found to be not guilty so she went on to lead a full life and this = happiness.

thirdly i was looking out the window yesterday and saw three starlings on the grass. for no good reason this = happiness (emotions are not always intelligent or rational).

alright, i cannot really think of too much else but you can be sure that if anything bad happens to me soon i will not make you read about it here. here begins my springtime campaign for a happier internet.

to conclude, a palmtop picture:

p.s. i think i am still taking this diaryland thing too seriously but anyway i have tweaked a few little things. you should now be able to leave notes and also i have changed the email address to my website email address because it is shorter and easier to remember than the old one. next update: probably wednesday (maybe thursday).

p.p.s. mouse update: 6 dead (this could be all of them)
